"I tried Vibe Edit when I needed to make a couple of urgent PDF edits and was surprised by how easy it was"

I Tried Vibe Edit, and It Completely Changed the Way I Manage PDFs

I recently started vibe editing PDFs, and it totally upgraded my PDF game.

Why I Decided to Try It

It all started during a client meeting last month. Everything was going great except for two (not so) tiny details: there was a typo in the client’s company name in the contract, and the date had to be changed because their legal department needed an extra day to approve it.

At first glance, the task seemed pretty simple. But as with many mishaps, a chain of unlucky coincidences made things go from fine to frustrating really fast. First, if you’re a freelancer, you probably know how packed our schedules can get. Sometimes, you don’t even have time to grab a sandwich between meetings. And yeah, that was the case with me.

Second, all my PDF editors were on my personal phone, which, you guessed it, I’d left at home.

Third, since it was my first meeting with this client, I really wanted to make a strong, lasting impression instead of whining about not having the right tools on hand.

So there I was, sitting in a cafe with only a few minutes before my next meeting, trying not to have a meltdown. With no time to wrestle with a traditional PDF editor, I remembered a tool I’d recently heard about—one where you can just tell a PDF what to change, and it does the work for you. A quick online search later, and I was ready to give it a try.

First Impressions

The tool was called Vibe Edit by Forma and was available directly in the browser, with no downloads or installations required. Which, for me, was already a huge plus.

The whole process took just a couple of minutes and felt more like chatting than editing. First, I went to the website and tapped Select File to upload the contract. Then, in the Type Your Request section, I described the changes I wanted: “Change the date from October 3 to October 4” and “Correct the company name from Avelanche to Avalanche.” And you don’t even have to type your requests if you don’t want to. You can leave an audio message with instructions if it’s more convenient. Anyway, after submitting my requests, I tapped Process with AI.

On the next screen, I checked if all the edits were correct. The changed date and fixed typo were highlighted, so there was no need to search for them. The tool also displayed the original in a separate window, so I didn’t have to switch back and forth between versions. Each window had a Discard button to reject an edit if I changed my mind. In my case, though, every change was exactly what I needed.

All that was left to do was tap Download Edited PDF. Just like that, my updated contract was ready, with the original layout intact.

What Else Can Vibe Edit Do?

The Type Your Request section can do much more than I initially realized. It can edit your PDF in almost any way you want. The most important thing is to describe your request clearly and accurately. For instance, you can ask the tool to summarize your text, make it shorter or expand on certain parts, create a title for your doc, and a bunch of other stuff.

On top of that, Vibe Edit has four default options for editing documents. If one of them works for you, there’s no need to type or record a request:

    • Translate converts your entire document into one of 22 languages, including English, Arabic, German, Hindi, and more
    • Change Tone tweaks your text to give it the tone you want: neutral, informal, friendly, or businesslike. You can even make it romantic for special occasions 😉
    • Polish as Native makes your writing sound natural, just like a native speaker wrote it
    • The Proofread option speaks for itself. It scans your document for grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes

The rest works just like before: you review the changes and get the edited document in the same format as your original file.

Is It Worth Trying?

100%. It completely changes the way you edit PDFs.

In my case, the task was simple: to fix a small typo and change a date in a contract during a client meeting. But Vibe Edit turned out to be way more than just a quick fix. It made the whole process feel ridiculously easy, all without any downloads or installations.

For me, Vibe Edit has been a total game changer. I hope it’ll be the same for you.
